LG Announces Closure of Solar Panel Manufacturing

By 01/03/2022March 20th, 2024No Comments

LG has recently announced a decision to close its solar panel business, and that this will occur during the 2nd quarter of 2022.

In a statement, LG Electronics Australia Managing Director Dan Lim said:

“LG Electronics Inc. (LG) has been closely evaluating the future direction of the LG solar panel business from the perspective of the company’s overall business portfolio, remaining open to all possibilities. After a careful review of all possible options, LG has announced it is closing the solar module production and sales business.

“The decision comes as uncertainties in the global solar power market continue to increase due to a variety of contributing factors, including the intensification of price competition and the rising cost of raw materials.”

Regarding warranty and customer support, General Manager of Solar & Energy at LG Electronics Australia, Gus Paviani stated:

“LG Electronics Australia will continue to provide warranty and after-sales support for LG solar panels for the warranty period and in accordance with applicable regulations.”

SolarWise Wagga is proud to have been partnered with LG Solar over the last 9 years.
We would like to thank the LG Solar Australia team for the outstanding support provided to us during this time. It has been a pleasure meeting and working with you all.

While we still have NeON H+ panels available, we don’t expect our remaining stock to last much longer based on the popularity of the LG panels and current demand.
