Riverina Oils and Bio Energy (ROBE)

ROBE is a bulk canola oil supplier in the Riverina region just outside of Wagga Wagga, sourcing their canola locally then crushing and refining it all on site. Recently the team at SolarWise Wagga set out to provide ROBE with a backup power system that would turn on and supply power critical areas in the processing plant in the event of a blackout.

As part of the system we supplied for ROBE we installed a Victron 5kW inverter charger and 3x 4kWh PowerPlus batteries, each with their own cabinets including a cooling system in the inverter cabinet. A monitor was also provided in the inverter cabinet to show battery charge status.

This system is set up to keep critical parts of the process up and running in the plant such as the PLC room (programmable logic controllers) and the server room for uninterrupted communications. The battery backup system allows for these processes to stay up and running for 2-3 hours while there is a power outage, giving ROBE time to switch over to generators if required.
