Scope: Remove existing solar power system. Design, supply, and install new Microinverter system.
Restoration work involving the replacement of roof sheeting on the Commins Hendriks buildings in Gurwood St required the removal of existing solar panels for the work to proceed.
Rather than reinstall the ageing panels, a decision was made to replace them with a new system.
The new system comprises 420W REC panels with Enphase microinverters.
A combination of high-efficiency panels and microinverter technology allowed for a larger capacity system to be installed on the available roof area.
During the removal of the existing panels, it was discovered that local birds had been very busy over the years building nests under the panels.
To eliminate the reoccurrence of this problem, special bird-proofing mesh was added to the new panel arrays.
